Thanks for visiting Berean Bible Church's home page. We hope the information you find here
will be edifying to your Christian life. If you have questions or comments on any of the messages
please let us know, we would love to hear from you.
In the early part of 1997 I had a paradigm shift in my eschatology (For the full story on how and why Berean Bible Church was founded please see the message, The Birth of a Preterist Church). The Lord opened my eyes to the Preterist view of eschatology. This view has had a major impact on my interpretation of
scripture (see my message Rightly Dividing the Word). You will find messages on this site that I wrote before and after my paradigm shift, so as not to confuse you we have made it easy to distinguish them. The messages that I wrote before I became a preterist have a white background and the ones that I wrote after my conversion to preterism have a blue background. I feel that the
messages that I wrote before I became a preterist can still be helpful so I have chosen to leave them on the site. Someday, God willing I will rewrite them from a preterist perspective, or should I say, a correct perspective.
Until January 1997 I had never heard of the preterist view of eschatology, so I obviously could
not believe what I didn't know. When a friend first shared it with me I thought he was MAD. As I
began to study this view I saw that though it went against what the majority of the Church was
teaching it was what the Bible was teaching. I had to make a choice between tradition and the
Scripture, the choice was easy. If this view is new to you I would ask that you would openly and
honestly look at what it is saying. Almost every book in the New Testament talks of a "soon"
return of Jesus Christ and it is very hard to make 2,000 years "soon" by any hermeneutic. The
major issue to me in all of this is the Inspiration of Scripture. Don't let tradition rob you of the
precious truths which our Lord taught. I challenge you to be a Berean and daily search the
Scripture to see if these things are so.
